About Kathy

Founder Kathy Blair has over 20 years experience in small business administration with an emphasis on communications and marketing. This experience helps inform the websites she designs for her small-business and entrepreneur clients.

Beginning in the days of WordPerfect for DOS, Kathy began exploring how to create  marketing materials, newsletters and brochures, often enrolling in classes as the technology changed and improved.  In the early 2000’s she learned FrontPage, Microsoft’s attempt at web design software, and then Adobe Dreamweaver, with which she created websites for her first clients. With the advent of content management systems like WordPress, Kathy saw a way to offer clients a customized website that they can update themselves (something nearly impossible on a Dreamweaver site).

Fluent in HTML and CSS, she brings the ability to take a premium WordPress theme beyond its built-in customization capabilities to create something truly unique for each client.

Education

Kathy graduated Summa Cum Laude from San Diego State University with a BA in Communications/Public Relations. She also holds a Professional Certificate in Marketing from UCSD Extension. Through the years she has continued to learn and improve her skills taking live and online courses to keep up with the latest best practices and technology.

San Diego Life

Although not technically a San Diego native, Kathy has lived in San Diego County for over 20 years. She grew up just up the 405 in Long Beach, where she lived for the first 20 years of her life, graduating from R. A. Millikan High School.

In the early ’80s Kathy moved to Mammoth Lakes, California, where her son, Sean, was born. In 1987, they moved to North County San Diego, where Sean grew up with frequent visits back to Mammoth. In 2010, Kathy and her fiance relocated to La Mesa.

Just for fun

When not working, you might find Kathy and her fiance enjoying all that San Diego has to offer. They enjoy hiking the many trails San Diego County offers. Kathy recently tackled Iron Mountain and Cowles Mountain and is looking forward to climbing many more of San Diego’s “peaks.” In between hiking she enjoys knitting, at home and with needle-craft groups.

On Sundays, you are likely to find her glued to the Chargers game at home, with friends or at The Q.
